On
November 1 & 2, 2002, the Farmers With Disabilities in Manitoba hosted a
Conference in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
It took
place at The Hotel Fort Garry. The Canadian Farmers with Disabilities Registry
planned their annual meeting to coincide with the Manitoba provincial
conference, to enable individuals from across Canada to attend. |
Mechanical
Assertive Technology"' "Farm Succession & Family Affairs",
"Living with Chronic Pain", and "Think for the Future". A
big thank you to all of those who presented.
Many
of those attending took a guided tour of Winnipeg in the
afternoon on the 2nd and had a chance to see the Legislative Grounds, Forks
Market, and some of the more prestigious homes. |

The
Conference started on the evening of Friday, November 1, with registration and
the opportunity to enter into a Chinese auction for a number of exceptional
donated prizes.
The
C.F.D.R. board members met later on the evening of November 1st.
Saturday
morning, November 2, started with breakfast and Opening Ceremonies. This was
followed by a number of excellent presentations on topics such as "Sponsors
Views and Expectations", "Services from Electronic & |
After
the tour, everyone joined together for an evening of entertainment and food. The
Guest Speaker was Minister of Labour and Immigration, Becky Berret, and the
entertainment was provided by Tim and Deanna Treadway from the hit reality
series "Pioneer Quest".

To
sum it up, the 2002 Conference was a wonderful success. A big thank you to
everyone involved and to the sponsors, without whose assistance this Conference
would not have happened. |
